Good news on the subsidy for commercial fishermen. It had ran out a couple weeks ago. The state now has it back in line. The subsidy can only exist until money runs out.
The State Finance Cabinet, TAH Cabinet, and Fish and Wildlife folks worked diligently to find a way to pay the commercial fishermen the subsidy that has been outstanding. Those check will now be sent out. The processors will receive the checks as has been the case this last year, and then they will distribute checks to the fishermen.
For the future:
The new Master Agreement will be established within 24 hours (see Jessica’s email below). All fishermen who have signed on will receive checks directly from KDFWR after all receipts have been received and verified.
This is important to our commercial fishermen!
